html page alignment

Question

Hello, I'm consistently failing in obtaining my intended final appearance in the html files. When exporting I choose Backgrounds>Page image position>left-top. My inDesign document has a wide black margin on the left the same black as the background color in the export panel. Its objective is to make some objects look as if they are out of the page or coming from outside the html. In order to see the white page more or less centered, I need to get the html to margin on the left side of the navigator window, to balance that black margin, but although I  select the left alignment It results centered. When you export either by going to in5 > Export HTML5 with in5... or to in5 > Easy Export Wizard... and clicking the Advanced button, go to the Basic section of the Export HTML5 with in5 dialog, and change the Page Format to Continuous Scroll (Horizontal). The content should then be aligned to the left.

Hello Myra, thank you for your answer. That worked well, except for the fact that it removed the arrows to navigate through pages. Usually, I export this kind of files as multi-page web (because loading the whole e-magazine would be too slow for my client's expectations), so the only way to go from one page to another is with the arrows. ¿Any other way?

For page formats that don't include the Back/Next arrows, you can make your own buttons that you can apply to your Parent page that have Go To Next Page and Go To Previous Page actions applied for the navigation.

I noticed in your link that your content has Desktop Scaling/Best Fit applied. The Continuous Scroll (Horizontal) page format can left align content even with scaling applied. 

Otherwise, to left align the content you would need to remove Desktop Scaling and apply custom CSS in the Resources section of the Export HTML5 with in5 dialog.

Another option would be to export with the page format set to Liquid Layout--even if you don't have Liquid Layout rules applied. The Liquid Layout page format can include Back/Next arrows but won't scale--even if Desktop Scaling is applied. 

You could also try setting Desktop Scaling to Fill Width so that it stretches to both the left and right margins.
