You are welcome to try it with some clever CSS, but the slide transition is designed to advance to the next page. I'm not sure how well that would work.
You could try a multi-state object where each state shows a slightly advanced section of the larger scene with a button on the left side of the page that has a Go To Previous State action and a button on the right side that has a Go To Next State action.
You might try using a long, horizontal graphic in a Scrolling Frame. In order to scroll, the content gets pasted into a frame, so I would caution against a lot of additional nesting. I'd also recommend frequent testing.
