For several days now, we’ve been receiving an error message related to image optimization. If we select "none," the export works correctly, but if we choose "standard" or "enhanced," it reports a problem. This didn’t happen before. The error occurs with both the latest version and the previous version of the plugin.

We also see that fonts folder is not being created correctly, which results in the CSS not being generated properly.

The latest version of InDesign (20.4.0.52) on macOS has introduced issues that are causing unexpected behavior, as documented in Adobe community discussions, and this is specifically affecting image optimization and media assets during in5 exports. These issues stem from the InDesign update itself and have been reported by users across the Adobe community. As of June 12, 2025, Adobe has acknowledged the issue in their InDesign 20.4.1 prerelease and confirmed that they are actively working on a fix.

In the meantime, reverting to InDesign 20.3.1 on macOS is an interim solution, and we've also confirmed that exporting on a Windows machine with InDesign 20.4 does not produce the same issues.

Thank you very much! I tried it as you suggested and it works perfectly.
I really appreciate your response.

We are pleased to report that as of June 24, 2025, Adobe has released InDesign version 20.4.1, which includes a fix for this issue. Our team has tested exports using this updated version and confirmed that media assets now export correctly without triggering I/O errors.

For additional details on the fixes included in this release, please refer to Adobe InDesign's documentation https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.html

Awesome! It's working great.
