Are simultaneous animations possible?

I'd like to have two animation move across a page at the same time rather than one move, then the other moves afterwards, is this possible please?

Yes, you can have two animations that play simultaneously. Go to the Timing panel (Window > Interactive > Timing), select the two animations, and click the Play together link at the bottom of the panel. Here's more information:
