I have some animated gifs in my flip book. I've got it set up in spreads and when I turn the page, the animation starts, partially runs, and then quickly restarts from the beginning. It seems to be animations that run across the 2 page spread. Is there any way I can stop this from happening?

Would you be able to send us your InDesign file or a sample file that recreates the issue and your html5_output folder for us to troubleshoot? You can submit them here:

Thanks for your quick response... after digging around a little more I realized that this is just a by product of how gifs are treated. I was clicking through quickly and gifs were partially loaded and then replaying from the beginning. I didn't realize there wasn't a way to keep the gif from preloading and then trigger it on the page open. Looks like I need to use an image series to do that. Thanks anyway!

I don't know that I've seen that behavior where an animated gif is partially loaded and replays from the beginning. I'd be happy to take a look if you'd like to send us your files:

First, I'd make sure that you're using the most recent version of in5:

Using an image sequence sounds like a good idea too.

If it's a looping animated gif, then you could try recreating it as a non-looping animated GIF. There is code that you can add to make a non-looping animated GIF replay when you return to its page if that's preferred:
