Built a web-app and would like it to switch from landscape to portrait when the device is rotated. Latest response on here (that I could find) is from 2014 and involves Java… is there a solution more up-to-date? I have built out alternate layouts as vertical (iPhone size), horizontal (iPhone size) and standard browser size. Browser works fine but device only follows vertical size.

To make a landscape and a portrait layout that can switch between orientations, you would make a Responsive Layout. Responsive Layouts with in5 are built using InDesign's Alternate layouts, so your layouts sound ready. To use the Responsive Layouts feature, you would need a Gold-level subscription or higher.
