Export selection without anything around, without absolute positionning

0 votes

When exporting the selection, the output HTML contains the page frame and the selection is positionned in that page frame, with absolute coordinates in the produced CSS.

Is there a way to only export the selection, without being positionned, and without the page frame around it, and with relative coordinates for all the elements inside?

The reason is that I need to export many pieces of InDesign documents, so that a user can reassemble them in a web page.

Thank you very much for your work and your answer!

Kind regards,

No, I tried to build it that way initially, but using the entire page container is the only way to get the correct positioning for the elements inside.

Thank you for your answer!

I understand what you mean, but in my case, I only want the selection to be exported, not the entire page. For now, it is exported without the other elements of the page but with the page frame, and the selection is absolutely positioned.
Yes, that is by design.

The export selection feature is primarily for animation.

Several of the animation start in one place and end in another.

If only the final location were exported, the animation would not show (since it would start outside of the rectangle that was exported). Therefore the entire page area is exported, because it is the maximum possible area where a single element can have an effect.
