in5 Now Supports AutoPlay for Audio and Video

in5 version 1.5.2 now supports the AutoPlay setting for Audio and Video (as well as the Delay setting) in the Overlay Panel and Play on Page Load in the Media Panel*.

Along with this, code has been added so that media is also stopped when the page changes.

*iOS devices are a little “touchy” in this regard. In some cases, a security measure prevents audio/video from playing initially if it’s not initiated by a touch gesture. Despite this measure, we have had success using AutoPlay on the iPad.

Additional changes/fixes in 1.5.2

  • Fixed audio playback on iOS when controls are not used.
  • Images directory inside of an Edge Animation is now automatically attached using the Web Content Overlay.
  • Fixed CS4 Error: Object does not support the property or method ‘visible’.

The latest version of in5 is available on the download page.

Compatibility with InDesign CC

We know many of you have been patiently awaiting a CC-compatible version of in5. Our code base is ready to roll, but we’re waiting on an update of InDesign from Adobe. We were hoping that update would be available by now, but it looks like there’s still a bit more waiting to do. My apologies for the delay.
