Announcing a New Service: Workflow Consulting

Justin | services | Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Starting today I will be offering a new service. I’m tentatively referring to it as Workflow Consulting.

Who is this service for?

This is a service primarily aimed at design studios, animation studios, and creative agencies.

If you work at or manage a design studio/agency, and have a large project coming up, but you don’t know how you can accomplish it with a limited number of staff, then you may want to keep reading…

Or maybe you’d like to be able to take on larger projects, but you can’t afford the extra staff, then this may be of interest to you.

Who am I?

I’ve worked as a designer/developer, in both print and interactive design, on several large projects like the scenarios described above. Over the past 5 years, I’ve had enormous success putting together workflows that accomplish the seemingly impossible.

What is this service?

I will assess your situation and devise a custom solution to get the maximum leverage from existing resources.

I can work within your team, using the team’s existing strengths, to build custom solutions. By using a solution built from within the team, your staff will have a unique understanding of how the system functions. This reduces the need to purchase an expensive solution that requires constant support because no one knows how it works.

Depending on your team’s experience, I can create custom tools for your workflow, or I can teach your team how to create the tools themselves, including utilization of the following:

  • XML
  • Relational Databases
  • Content Management Systems
  • Object-Oriented Programming Techniques
  • Modular Design
  • Scripting and Automation

These solutions, far from hindering creativity, will actually free up talented staff to work on the creative aspects of a project, rather than force them to wrestle with the underlying technology.

If you’re interested in getting more out of your workflow, please contact me for a consultation.
