While debugging an app made with in5 we get a warning in Safari web inspector "Resource interpreted as Font but transferred with MIME type application/octet-stream."
We've tried adding AddType application/x-font-opentype .otf and AddType font/opentype .otf to the .htaccess file as suggested elsewhere but neither work.
Any suggestions?

This is an illegal mimetype though: there is no "font/" in the official mimetypes. A better mime type would be "application/x-font-opentype" or "application/octet-stream". The first is basically "unregistered mimetype with this name", the second just "binary data"
It seems like this is an ongoing battle online. It might be worth it to check with your web host to see what they suggest as well.
Yeah, thanks dude. Onwards...
