2. Any way the end-use can modify Merge Text so that the “left” option is the default, instead of “top”? Thats’ the one I use 99% of the time.

3. Have you tested to see that there’s a difference? I believe that the second-level sorting for “top” is “left.” So they should work the same in most cases.
